Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our Catalog, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

We accept payment online by credit cards, debit card and PayPal. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to US Dollars or your own currency.

We accept Visa, Mastercard or Maestro. Payment will be debited from your account before the dispatch of your purchase. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet. Payment can also be made by Personal Cheque or Postal Order. Goods will not be dispatched until cheques have been cleared.
Shipping And Handling
Delivery of the majority of smaller items is by Royal Mail 1st class recorded signed for delivery. Items can be sent by Special Delivery on request, please ring for cost. Larger parcels will be sent by courier. Parcels are dispatched Tuesday to Friday only.

WEEE Regulations:

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now U K law. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment. The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.

The amount of WEEE we throw away is increasing by around 5% each year, making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.

"Much of the UK's WEEE ends up in landfill, where the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health.

"Many electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill.

Distributors of new Electric and Electronic Equipment (EEE) have a part to play in reducing the amount of WEEE going into landfill sites.

Reeds of Cambridge are obliged under these regulations to offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when you buy from us a new Electrical or Electronic product.

For example, if a customer bought a new EEE item from us we would accept their old WEEE item and prevent it going into a landfill site by disposing of it safely. Customers must return their WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item.

Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol.

Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.

Delivery Schedule Goods are normally despatched within 5-10 working days and mostly are despatched within 2 working days. If delivery is not possible within this time scale you will be e-mailed giving you the option of putting the item(s) on backorder, receiving an alternative or cancelling. If you wish to receive your order by a specific date please let us know.
Back Orders If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
Tax Charges For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 15% VAT is added. All other orders are VAT free and you should click the exempt button to reduce VAT to zero .
Credit Card Security All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

Returns Policy If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase you can return it within 30 days of the date of despatch, with your receipt, providing it is in as new condition and still in its original packaging with all labels attached. Nothing in this guarantee will affect your legal rights. Returns postage costs will only be refunded for faulty goods.

Important: Returns postage cost can only be refunded if a proof of postage is provided. Your post office will attach a prooof of postage sticker to the outside of the parcel if requested.

You (the customer) will be responsible for the item or items until they reach us. We strongly advise you use a secure delivery method, which requires a signature upon delivery such as Royal Mail First Class (Recorded Delivery).
